Pacific Force's Base

Physical Structure

Pacific Force's base, inherited from shield, is on Paragon Street (named after the superhero) in the south part of SF (but not in South San Francisco), conveniently located in an industrial area so the villains can attack at midnight without bystanders getting in the way. It lies between a U-Stor-It on the east and south and the parking lot of a trucking company on the west; across the street to the north is a large warehouse.

The base itself is a small three-story building done in reinforced brick with ledges and roof crenellation and stuff. There is a driveway down the left side, between the base and the chainlink fence of the U-Stor-It, which leads to a six-car parking lot in back, also surrounded by opaqued chain-link fence. All the windows are barred, but the armor plate put in place by Shield has been removed pending further grenade attacks. There are double doors in front, a door in back opening onto the parking lot, and a hatch in the roof.

The ground floor has a reception area in front, three conference rooms along the right-hand side of the building (the rearmost of which is better described as an interrogation room), a small nook with drink machine and coffeemaker, and the archive room behind the reception area. At the rear of the building, an elevator and a stairwell provide access to the upper floors.

At the back of the second floor is a kitchen and dining area. The middle of the floor is devoted to a workout area and exercise equipment, and at the front are quarters for two people.

The third floor has quarters for five people, a small area to sit and drink coffee at the back, and a jacuzzi at the front.

The roof was not used much during the Shield occupancy, and was pretty much a bare expanse of concrete with an airconditioner and a satellite dish. Asenath has been working on turning it into a garden, but it's not yet the season to plant things.

The two second-floor apartments are being turned into office space, so everyone lives on the second floor. Ginger has the large apartment, at the front by the jacuzzi; the rest are about the same size and occupied somewhat randomly, except for Asenath who claimed the one with the southern exposure for her plants. Dr Rune has a corner of Dragon's room to keep his clothes in; he does not otherwise take up any space.

There are plenty of phone lines, a 56k data line, an alarm system that alerts the security company, and a bone-shaking PA system that connects to the stereo.

Personnel

Aside from the team, the only person who is routinely on-site is the receptionist, Mitsi. Mitsi is a native of San Francisco, complete with purple hair, black leather, and nose ring, who answers the phone "Yah, Pacific Force" and pops her gum a lot.

The company that maintains the alarm system will send someone over if it goes off, to scare away kids and random weirdos, but there is no security force at the base; the resident paranormals can handle any problem with normals, and normal security guards would be of no help against a paranormal assault.

A highly reliable maid and maintainance service cleans up the place twice a week, plus special visits to clear away the aftermath of supervillain assaults.
