Knights of Atlantis
Knights of Atlantis is inspired by Sailor Moon, set in near
past (March 2000) San Francisco, and stars a whole bunch of teenage cuties
with surprise superpowers and past lives returning to haunt them. We hope
that there will also be really cute villain guys in need of redeeming.
In accordance with the ISO standards for the genre, Our Heroes have
discovered their powers after being mugged by soul-stealing demons, and
received exposition about their past lives as defenders of Atlantis, the
source of Civilization from a talking cat. When transformed, they have
armor in the style made famous by those notorious Atlantean-culture
plagiarists the Greeks, with colors and helmet crests indicating their
spheres of power, and are all nigh-invulnerable and have other powers
appropriate to their spheres.
Our Heroines include:
- Sovay Altair Montgomery/Knight of Dreams (played by Ayse)
- She wants to make the world a more beautiful place. 8th grade, Emperor
Norton Junior High. As the Knight of Dreams, she wears violet armor and
a feather crest, receives helpful dreams even when asleep, and seems to
be able to affect demon's essence through symbolism.
- Tamar "Ivy" Ivy/Knight of Works (played by Marith)
- Technophile and SRL fan, voted
"most likely to destroy the world before graduation". 8th grade,
Emperor Norton Junior High. Unsurprisingly, her knightly power is over
the creations of mankind: she can make them move without touching them,
can analyze their functioning, and can create walls out of nothing. Her
armor is gold and has a crest of columns. Presumably the snowboard she
intends to fly around on will also be gold.
- Frances Mortenson/Knight of Waters (played by Christy)
- A good Catholic girl who wants to be Bad but doesn't quite get how to
apply the concepts outside her fantasy life. 9th grade, Immaculate
Conception Academy. As the Knight of Waters (in blue armor with a wave
crest), she can create large amounts of water, breathe underwater, and
zoom through the ocean.
- Lady Bastet (NPC)
- A talking cat who has some of the answers.
- Ashley "Ash" Kenton/Knight of Flames (played by Angie)
- SCA geek, soccer star, and generally butch history buff. 9th grade,
Takeuchi High. The Knight of Flames, she wears red armor with a
flame-shaped crest, has unrepeatedly manifested a flaming sword, and
can definitely make things burn (while being nonflammable herself). She
thinks she might be able to fly.
- Amanda "Blake" Blakely/Knight
of Forests (played by Trip)
- Web-comic artist ("At Night, They Come"), school paper journalist, and
semi-goth, with a Mysterious Heritage. 9th grade, Takeuchi High. As the
Knight of Forests, in forest-green armor with a bonsai tree crest, she
has the strength of the vegetable kingdom, runs as fast as a
tumbleweed(?), and can become one with the forest.
- George "Genji" Webster/Knight of Skies (played by Adam Janin)
- Famous musician and Japanese-American heartthrob. 12th grade, Takeuchi
High. The Knight of Skies, he wears silver armor with a cloud crest
and flies (the rat bastard!). He also seems to be able to do something
with fog and mist.
(Most of the above pictures are done by Christy and are still in
progress.
Blake has deduced that the seventh Knight (what kind of mystic number
is six?! it's not even prime!) must be the Knight of the Void;
unsurprisingly, he has not put in an appearance. Our Heroines also know
of at least one sorcerer (presumably another reincarnated Atlantean) who
is coating people with demons and sending them forth to suck out the
kau (sing. ka) of creative people. The past may still
return to haunt even more people.
