I enjoy eating and dining out a great deal but Iíve recently changed my diet somewhat. If youíre thinking of inviting me over for dinner or out for a meal (and I encourage that line of thinking), click here for a list of my dietary restrictions.
I love a great cabernet sauvignon or zinfandel or a pinot noir. I'm not as big a fan of white wines and will usually only sip one glass. I'm partial to a fine glass of port as well, especially late at night. I have been known to enjoy a glass with a cigar, if the occasional calls for it.When I go out drinking with my friends I usually enjoy beer but if it's been a rough day and I trust the bartender, I will ask for a martini. I have never learned to make a decent martini myself but I enjoy them when someone else can make them well. I enjoy coffee and tea, but I try to stick to decaffeinated versions wherever possible these days.
The most recent nice food discoveries were probably Koh Samui & the Monkey on Brannan Street (try the Pumpkin Chicken Curry) and Cote Sud on 18th Street (with an amazing Pate de foie gras and a very, very nice Ahi Tuna Tartar.)
