The "Make it, Shake it" earthquake computer simulator is an interactive exhibit allowing a user to investigate the response of a building during an earthquake. Realistic mathematical models are used to determine the motion of a building for different size earthquakes and types of buildings. The user can change the quake magnitude and distance, and building height and material type, to see if the building survives. The motion of the building is calculated in realtime and animated in 3D. |
