My 1967 Pontiac LeMans (326 cu inch V8) was born the year the Interstate Highway System, begun by President Dwight Eisenhower, was declared complete.
The LeMans was one of the "American Iron" muscle cars of the era, a perfect fit for its ecosystem - like the bison and the great plains. Interstate 80's curves are engineered for 75, which is where the Le Mans is most at home. Or so I've heard. And the g-forces between 1st and 2nd never fail to please.
