The traffic light flashed red and green where the flames jumped a huge firebreak - the intersection of California 13 and 24.

It was a windy hot morning and the embers sailed through the sky torching the eucalyptus trees. The one pictured above survived.

Embers landed in the back seat of jaws. I was forced to put the top up.
