masterfully portrayed by Marcello Mastroianni in "La Nuit de Varennes," takes a better
look at a beautiful countess (Hanna Schygulla) in this historic romance featuring
Harvey Keitel as Thomas Paine talking french and Jean-Louis Barrault as the amiable
pornographer Restif de la Bretonne. It's about the night Louis XVI and
Marie Antoinette almost escaped.
