Juan de Palafox y Mendoza 1600-1659: Spanish bishop, born in Aragon, bishop of Puebla de Los Angeles in Mexico took the side of the natives (and the seculars) against the cruelty of religious authority, for which the Jesuits interdicted him in 1647!
