| Covenant of the Alexandrian Bath-Cave | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Elder Magi | |||
| Name | House | Field of Study | Player |
| Ankhanetus | Verditius | Amulets | |
| Ankhanetus is very much the picture of a lab rat. Disheveled in appearance, he fiddles constantly with his fingers, picking up small objects and worrying them apart, never looking anyone in the eye. When not speaking he constantly mutters, too low to catch the words or even the language. When talking before the twelve of you, while not visibly nervous, he rambles as he talks, and will mutter incomprehensibly at the end of each thought as he gathers the next. | |||
| Kanahkt | Flambeau | Celestia | |
| [Kanahkt ex domu Flambeau is an imposing figure. Bald (or perhaps shaved) head, constantly dressed in the style of an Egyptian noble, he constantly glares at the world through narrowed, manic eyes. When he strides quickly through corridors, he walks down the middle and does not hesitate to plow into, and over, anyone not in his way. Those not of unusual self-possession are often made to feel insignificant around him. When he speaks, it is in forceful, imperative language, terse and direct.] | |||
| Merenptah | Criamon | True Names | |
|
[Merenptah is a withered, dried-out Criamon -- face and hands covered in
tattoos, of course, with an "eye of Horus" symbol around his right eye.
His eyes are milky white and obviously sightless, and he speaks in a
soft, gentle voice, so gentle you find him implicitly trustworthy and
free from malice.]
[You are told, by any of several of the covenant's members, something of Merenptah. "If you see an image of him walking about the covenant, and it appears to see you, do /not/ respond to it or interact with it in any way; it cannot harm you if you ignore it. It may also invade your dreams, if your Parma is not extraordinary for a newly apprenticed magus."] | |||
| Nepherenius | Tytalus | Replicae | |
| Praeiecta | Tremere | Alchemy | |
| The woman introduces herself. "I am Praeiecta, ex domu Tremere." She has the arrogant air you probably associate with her House (if you have know any Tremere), and at the same time has a slight furtiveness -- occasionally glances almost too fast to follow about the room, as though ensuring no one is observing her without being observed themselves. Like Nespherenius and like most elder magi, she has the ageless look of one who has been enchanted by longevity for many decades. | |||
| Taheret | Jerbiton | Necromancy | |
| [Taheret dresses precisely in the fashion of an Egyptian queen -- Nefertiti come to life, perhaps, and completely within her role: clearly of noble birth, she clearly and casually expects royal deference from all who deal with her; she will fail to acknowledge, or dismiss with biting indifference, anyone who does not address her as a courtier would a queen.] | |||
| Timat | Merinita | Sacred Geometry | |
| [Timat smiles often, creasing her homely face into a million haphazardly-strewn wrinkles. She alone appears to be authentically Egyptian in ancestry, Kanahkt's and Taheret's pretensions notwithstanding. She is always accompanied by several cats, and often is greeted by a cat when entering a room, though no cats are ever in evidence anywhere in the covenant except when she's present. She also often snags a flying beetle out of the air, discusses matters with it in a whisper, then releases it, though the beetle is visible for no more than a heartbeat before and after its interaction with her.] | |||
| Younger Magi | |||
| Ananda | Criamon | True Names, Replicae | Soula |
| Ananda is a tall, quiet woman with the tattoos that mark her house swirled across her face, hands and arms. She dresses in pale scuffed robes and fades easily into the background despite her striking tattoos and height. She spends most of the time during the presentations looking only half-interested and during the discussion of Celestia, she looks downright bored and faintly scornful. When Timat makes her presentation, Merinita's cats get a bit of lazy attention, as much as the magus herself. | |||
| Aurelia | Ex Misc | Replicae, Amulets | Chrisber |
|
Aurelia is tall, very beautiful, and manages to look very unimposing
without visibly trying to hide. She acts almost like a servant, there,
but invisible. Probably of Levantine extraction, she has long glossy dark
hair, loosely braided back, and dark eyes and a strong nose in an oval,
olive-skinned face.
She originally wore only a loose, unbelted gown of faded green linen, a white headcloth, simple sandals, and carried a cloth satchel as her only luggage. She's already used the baths several times, and has since arrival been wearing only the white headcloth, wrapped about her body as a sort of sarong. | |||
| Cantolorum | Jerbiton | Amulets | John |
| Casus | Tytalus | Sacred Geometry | Brad |
| Casus is dressed in a simple but expensive looking tunic. He looks like a short "Pierce Brosnan", with beautiful features, a well molded if thin body and a cheerful expression. He was clearly unused to walking and was awkward in the caves. When speaking he has the classical modes, rhythms and pustures of a late Roman Senator. He appears to have had his hair shaved a few days ago and his skin is pale, even after exposure to the desert sun. | |||
| Kalli | Jerbiton | True Names | Cera |
|
Kalliste filia Kybele ex Domus Jerbiton is an olive-skinned woman in
her early twenties, an inch or two taller than average, and a little
too too intense in manner and expression to be pretty despite fine
features. When she first arrives she's wearing the usual long dress of
a Byzantine woman, with her hair demurely covered. Once she's settled
into the covenant, however, she takes to wearing a chiton and mantle
with obvious relief. Her eyes are dark, as is her hair; the latter
curls fiercely, and is usually wound into a tight bun at the back of
her head. She's not particularly athletic, but she moves with confidence,
clearly at home in her body.
Kalli (the name she's apt to introduce herself by if distracted or surprised) is at ease with Magi and non-Magi alike, approaching everyone with a warmth that only cools if treated rudely. The only goal she claims is the desire for knowledge, and although she's interested in politics (both local and those of the order) she seems to have very little understanding of them. | |||
| Nidorus | Verditius | Necromancy, Replicae | Cesar |
| Noctua | Bjornaer | Celestia | Gretchen |
|
Noctua's heart-shape is obvious: over the course of the presentations
she seems at least as comfortable in the form of a barn owl as that of
a human, though she is more likely to take human form during the
presentations and other times she is likely to need to speak.
Human is perhaps a generous description: her heart-shaped face is too wide, pale, and flat to look normal, with odd bone structure and tiny nose and thin lips. Her black eyes are outlined with kohl-like markings; her hair is cinnamon-red and falls in a bushy mane, salted through with white that resolves into feathers on close inspection. She is tiny, a head at least shorter than most other women, and stocky; her nails are somewhat dramatically hooked. She wears dun trousers and tunic, a wide-brimmed hat, and no shoes on her horny, betaloned feet. During quiet moments she is often still, with her eyes closed, though if anyone approaches then her eyes open and she turns to face them. When the elder mages are speaking she watches them in silence. | |||
| Renata | Jerbiton | Alchemy | Sherilyn |
| Sagirah | Ex Misc | Sacred Geometry | Marith |
| Sagirah is a short, squat woman completely swathed in black robes, with a dark veil over her face. She arrives at Mohammed's after the rest of you, stiff-legged and limping, and takes a seat by the fire. Any children or animals in the room recoil, not merely from the unseen aura of magic, but from the sullen glower she radiates at all times. | |||
| Tenebrum | Tremere | Necromancy | Dave |
| Tenumbrum is tall and gaunt, his skin a pale white at best, a sickly yellow or green at times. His dress is dark, battered, and musty - you get the impression it doesn't so much wear out as decay away. His hair is dark and ill-kept, his nails ragged, his dark eyes bloodshot (during the day), his gaze disturbing and unsettling. He walks stiffly, and reminds you of a freshly woken corpse; he sleeps as one of the dead. He talks forcefully, but not in a domineering fashion. Some of what he says is directed at someone not present, or at least not seen. | |||
