Somewhat older (System 7.5) versions of MacOS come with "MacTCP". You know you have MacTCP if you have a control panel called "MacTCP".
Even older Macintoshes don't come with a TCP stack. You'll need to get MacTCP or Open Transport.
You can download Open Transport here.
If you don't have Remote Access, then you need either FreePPP or MacPPP. If you have OpenTransport then get FreePPP. If you have MacTCP, you can use either FreePPP or MacPPP.
You can get FreePPP from http://www.rockstar.com/ppp.shtml.
You can download MacPPP here.
You must also have one copy of Remote Access, MacPPP or FreePPP. If you are using OpenTransport, you must use Remote Access or FreePPP. Never have more than one copy of a PPP dialer installed at a time.
Step 2. On the first screen make sure that MacPPP is highlighted. If it is not there, perhaps you need to install it.
