Connecting with PPP
Logging in
There are three ways to log in and start PPP. The first is
to use PAP authentication. Most PPP programs use PAP
authentication by default. If your program provides a way
for you to enter a username and password, then that is probably
PAP.
The second way is to use the CHAP protocol. CHAP is very
similar to PAP but allows greater flexibility. Don't worry about
which your program supports. Either will do.
The third method of starting PPP is to go through a unix-style
login process, but use your special PPP login.
This is your normal login/account name, but
With The First Letter Capitalized. This is the only time
that you should use anything but all lower-case for your
login name. When logging in this way, enter your PPP login
name at the login: prompt and your password at the
password: prompt.

Most Idiom accounts have static IP addresses. You will
have the same IP address every time you log in.
